Welcome Friends and Neighbors!

Thank you for taking the time to be informed voters and researching more about the candidates running for office. Hopefully this will share a little more about who I am and why I am asking for your continued support.

Why I’m running for re-election to the Spokane Valley City Council, Position #4

Spokane Valley is and has always been a great place to live, work, play, and raise our families. My family and I are steadfast in that belief with 5 generations either living or have lived in the Spokane Valley area.

We are a community of honest, hardworking, individuals that come together to take care of each other and do what needs to be done. We don’t need, nor want, a lot of government interference, but a better life for our children, better job opportunities, safer neighborhoods, and have the ability to stay here to raise their families.

In the last few years we have been able to make some great strides for our community! We have listened to your feedback and with an eye on the future we have been able to take advantage of opportunities that our city would have missed out on in the past.

Infrastructure is a large responsibility of government and key to economic development for our city. Before the city was formed our community talked and dreamed about how nice it would be to grade separate the major intersections from the railroad mainlines just like Argonne at Trent has. In my last term we securing the funding needed and began construction at Barker and Trent taking Barker up and over the railroad tracks and improving the dangerous intersection at Trent. Along the way we provided the necessary infrastructure and opened 500 acres of land up for development. While our construction of our infrastructure improvements hasn’t even been completed yet 400 of those 500 acres are already permitted and jobs are being created.

Similarly, we have advocated for and advanced the Pines Road Grade Separation Project at Pines and Trent which was rated the #1 unfunded grade separation project in the state for safety and we are a breath away from securing the remainder of the necessary funding to get under construction.

We have also partnered with and supported Spokane County to advance the improvements and realignment of Bigelow Gulch into the Sullivan Corridor which are under active review for grants to allow the corridor to complete their construction. We need representatives that will prioritize and keep advancing these key infrastructure projects.

I am a lifelong Spokane Valley resident, business owner, father of three wonderful little girls and a son. I am invested in our community, I want to see our community succeed. While I have had the privilege to serve you on the city council and most recently as your mayor, I don’t believe in career politicians, but in community servants. I have the desire to serve and track record to show that I am honest and use commonsense when making decisions.

The future is bright! Together we can make a difference, together we can keep our eye on the future and keep our city on the right track! If you believe the same things then I need your help. I am willing to dedicate the time and work hard for you as your city councilmember and mayor but I need your help getting there. If you can spare even a single dollar to help spread the word, it would help; if you are willing spend even one weekend of time volunteering for the campaign, it would help; or if you are willing to stand up, pledge your support and list your name next to mine as a supporter for your friends and neighbors to see, it would help.
